Booked an appointment (03/12/21) for a plumber to visit my property and investigate the damp patch on my ceiling and repair any findings. He arrived over an hour late, my wife having rang the store twice, the plumber rang her eventually and requested information to find our property. Once he finally arrived he spent approximately 5 minutes in our property to be generous. He looked at the ceiling and confirmed it was a damp patch, he then looked at the waste pipe work on the main bath room sink, of which I had previously removed the unit, after a 30 second look he decided it wasn't leaking and went about his merry way leaving my wife rather angry about the service we had received, or lack of it. Then to receive an invoice for £54 was to be honest a surprise. I understand there is a minimum call out charge and would have no problem paying the charge if the plumber had done an hours work or even wanted to do an hours work, instead just wanting to attend my property knowing he was getting an hours pay if he did any work or not, he didn't even offer to check that everything was tight on waste pipework. I phoned the store to discuss this invoice with the manager who argued that the bill included "paperwork, vehicle costs, fuel, pension, etc, etc" What I didn't get was that he was happy to rip off customers with employees who aren't willing to do any work, the plumber knew he would be paid for an hours work yet choose to do as little as possible. I requested from the manager a full breakdown of the charges, this has yet to arrive if it ever will. If using this company then ensure that the supposed professional that attends your property is aware he will be expected to do an hours work as that is what you have paid for, that's if he turns up on time. Good luck discussing any issues with the manager who has no customer service skills or remorse in charging customers £54 for approximately 5 minutes.
